Before you break into the Elaine Benes dance...

It's happening, you did it!

You survived a global pandemic and are probably in some stage of reopening (or close to it)

Time to happy dance like Elaine. For those born after 1980, you can reference the GIF above to see these epic moves (can't see the video? click HERE)

Before you start to party like the drunk uncle at a spring wedding, we need to cover a few things about your beer business reopening under new restrictions and for new market conditions.

First - how is your staff doing? May is Mental Health Awareness Month. When was the last time you checked in on how they are coping with the pandemic? Now is the time to ask and provide support.

Second - think about the logistics of reopening to the public. Do you have the right signage in place? Have you updated your website/social media? Have you sent emails to your fans? Does your staff know how to triage potentially hostile situations with consumers that don't want to wear a mask?

Third - do you have an updated sales and marketing plan for our new market conditions? Are you properly nurturing loyal consumers that supported your brand during the shut down? Did you stay in contact with your retail buyers? Have you been communicating with your beer distributor about beer orders from On Premise accounts?

Again, the craft beer community will be pressed to speed up innovation under these new reopening conditions, but we found a way to carry on during the shutdown right?

You can do this. I have confidence in the creativity and resiliency of our beer community.

Cheers,

Julie
